Chilling Footage Emerges Of UFC Anthony Smith’s Home Invader

UFC light heavyweight contender & BJJ black belt Anthony Smith was awoken last weekend by the screaming of a home invader in his own house.

Smith detailed the ‘terrifying’ experience to ESPN’s Ariel Helwani. Smith was in his home with his wife and 3 kids.

He ran to his computer were the intruder was located and rushed him to the grounded. A fight ensued and Smith was able to incapacitate him after having a hard time holding him down. Smith said that the intruder was extremely strong and took every shot he gave him and kept coming back.

Smith said of the incident:

“I didn’t know what he had. Typically people don’t break into your house in the middle of the night for any good reasons. I’m expecting that I’m gonna hear a gunshot or he’s gonna stab me. Like he’s got something. I figure I’ve got about two minutes before whatever he’s got takes me out.”

“No normal human is able to fight like that. I’m by no means the baddest dude on the planet. But he’s a regular Joe and I had a hard time dealing with him. And he took everything that I gave him — every punch, every knee, every elbow. He took every single one of them and kept fighting me.”

The intruder was identified as Luke Haberman, Nebraska native in his 20’s. Haberman was a star high school wrestler at Bishop Neumann Wrestling in Nebraska with a 32-11 record in his senior year.

Here is footage of Haberman trying to enter a house just before Smith’s. Watch with the sound on:

The struggle continued for five more minutes before the police arrived.

Smith was uninjured but he said that there are bloodstains from the encounter in his family’s computer room. Strangely, the suspect calmly also apologised to Smith as he was escorted out of the house by the police..

The invader, Haberman was issued a citation and released to the hospital. The police didn’t take him into custody, he will report to court at a later date.

Haberman did not steal anything from Smith’s home, and we still do not know why he broke in. Smith thinks there could be a case of mental illness.

Smith has 32W and 14L MMA record, and has also formerly competed for Strikeforce and Bellator. As of June 3, 2019, he is #3 in the UFC light heavyweight rankings.
