Chael Sonnen Amazed at Blowback of Kron Gracie’s debut Win in the UFC

Chael Sonnen has long been one of the most interesting color commentators of the UFC. Former UFC fighter and experienced wrestler recently took a chance to weigh in on young Gracie’s debut in octagon:

“Over the weekend another fight that took place was Kron Gracie making his UFC
debut and as soon as he won there seemed to be some blowback coming Kron’s way – he’s not that good or he hasn’t showed enough. Oh yeah? oh hold on let’s hit the brakes just a second here. I don’t know that anybody is saying that he’s so good or he’s the new number one contender or he’s the new power of
the division I don’t know that anybody’s saying that… I mean it was like 20 years since the Gracie had won in the UFC I tell you that because yes he did come in with tremendous pressure not just from the outside not just the pressure that the other competitors have to feel but an actual family lineage and he performed perfectly and he won.”

Kron Gracie def. Alex Caceres by submission via rear naked choke (2:06, R1) – and afterwards had to face comments like Ben Askren’s:
