Bullies Threaten Child With Hockey Stick – Kid Uses BJJ To Defend!

Bullying is a huge issue in the modern society. It seems universally spread across different cultures and socio economic standards. This is why you New Zealander boy had to use his jiu-jitsu skills to fend for himself and evade the tricky situation.

Jaxson Dinmore, 10, was playing at Oliver Park, in Blenheim, with friends on Monday afternoon when two boys about his age came over according to stuff.co.nz.

You can listen to Jaxson explain what happened next :

The boys started pushing Jaxson around, with one saying, “punch him in the head”, he said.

Jaxson tried to defend himself and ended up using his yellow belt jiu-jitsu skills to restrain one of them in a rear naked choke, he said.

Two high school students came over and separated the boys, taking the bullies away, so Jaxson and his friends kept playing.

When Jaxson went back to the park they came back with a hockey stick. Still his parents are grateful for both his bjj and the intervention by the older kids:

The response we’ve had is just amazing. I’m speechless. There are good people out there,” she said.

Jaxson’s parents told him to come straight home if he saw the bullies again.

“What do you do? Every time they are at the park, he can’t play there? It’s sad for him,” Nikki Dinmore said.

“You just don’t know what the right choice is. We can only do what’s best for us.”
