Blue Belt Woman Stabbed 34 Times Has Friends Fundraising Looking To Speed Up Mat Return

Resident of Louisville, Kentacky Cassidy Foster is recovering after being stabbed over 30 times. She was vacationing with her family when she was attacked by her husband.

“She was stabbed 34 times and she suffered a broken or fractured vertebrae, but she’s fighting,” friend and athletic trainer Marquita Busby said to wlky.

Foster trains at Griffin’s Submission Academy in Louisville and Apex Martial Arts Academy in Shepherdsville. And she’s already looking forward to returning to the mat.
She was rushed hospital after the husband was taken to jail. The husband died there several days later however the family is unaware how.

“It was her high school sweetheart, they had been together forever. He’s never been abusive to her, he’s never done anything crazy to her or been out of line so it was a complete shock to her,” Busby said. “She’s sad that it happened but she doesn’t want his name tarnished. She’s holding on to the memory of him that she has, the man that she knew and loved and was married to.”

The fundraiser, “Coming Together for Cassidy”, is Saturday, January 6.

It is from noon until 3p.m. at Apex Martial Arts Academy on Arnold Drive, off of North Preston Highway, in Shepherdsville.

Everyone is welcome to attend the fundraiser. You do not need to be a member of any martial arts gym or have any martial arts experience or interest to take part in the fundraiser.

An online donation account has been set up for Cassidy Foster. You can donate here.
