It’s happening again. It’s been exactly 3 years since the BJJ community exposed the practice of promoting children to junior black belt rank. Now it’s happening again.
Reddit BJJ member Fakku MMA first exposed a BJJ kids academy located in Maine, USA, Stonecoast Brazilian jiu jitsu for kids, which is led by a legit and verified black belt Shaun Durfee.
Professor Durfee’s lineage is the following:
Renzo Gracie -> Amal Easton -> Jay Jack -> Shaun Durfee
This practice of junior black belts is common for martial arts such as Karate and Taekwondo but is NOT and has never been part of BJJ tradition and rules.
BJJ follows well defined belt rankings that should be followed, according to Federation rules
