Atos Insider Breaks Silence on Galvão Case: “No Investigation, No Charges”

A new statement from inside the Atos network has added even more controversy to the ongoing situation surrounding André Galvão, as conflicting narratives continue to divide the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu community.

Jonatas Eliaquim, an Atos-affiliated coach based in Zurich, has shared his perspective on the situation, strongly defending Galvão and disputing that any legal action has taken place.

What the Atos Zurich Coach Said

In a message to Bjjee, Eliaquim stated the following

“André has never been summoned, not to the police station, nothing at all.

There has been no investigation, no trial, no legal procedure.

According to people close to the girl, the police contacted potential witnesses, but no one came forward or agreed to testify under oath, and no one saw anything because nothing happened.

This allegedly took place during a training session in a crowded gym with 27 cameras. No one saw anything and all the footage is available. Even the police did not want to review it.

All of this was orchestrated by mothers and dissatisfied employees who did not want to lose their position at Atos, so they decided to burn everything down.”

Eliaquim also said he had private audio messages from a parent that he claims support this version of events.

Alexa Herse’s Allegations

These claims directly conflict with the allegations made by Alexa Herse, a former Atos athlete who publicly accused Galvão of misconduct.

In her statement, Herse described what she said was inappropriate behavior during training, including unwanted physical contact and conduct that made her uncomfortable. She also stated that she had reported the matter to law enforcement and encouraged others to come forward.

Galvão has publicly denied the allegations.

The Fallout Inside Atos

Regardless of the lack of any publicly confirmed charges or court proceedings, the impact on Atos has been significant.

In the aftermath of the allegations, multiple people left the team, and Atos reportedly lost a large number of affiliates. Several athletes, coaches, and members distanced themselves from the organization, while others quietly moved on during one of the biggest internal crises the team has faced in recent years.

The departures and affiliate losses became a major part of the story, showing that even without a legal resolution, the controversy had already created serious consequences for the organization.

Galvão’s Break and Return

Following the initial wave of backlash, Galvão stepped away for approximately one month.

He has since returned and is reportedly back to teaching every day at the academy, resuming his regular presence on the mats while the controversy continues to hang over the team.

Where the Situation Stands Now

At this point, there is still no confirmed public record of charges or court proceedings against Galvão.

One side says misconduct occurred and that a report was made to law enforcement. The other says there was no investigation, no evidence, and no basis for the accusations.

For now, the situation remains unresolved, with strong and opposing narratives coming from both sides, no official legal conclusion, and lasting consequences already felt throughout the Atos organization.
