Alex Pereira Ridiculed by Fans for Training with Dillon Danis

Dillon Danis just might be one of the most infamous MMA personalities on social media.

The BJJ black belt hasn’t competed in a while. And, even though he was supposed to fight the social media influencer KSI in a boxing match earlier this year, he pulled out of that bout.

However, as he revealed in a recent interview with The Schmo, he’s been wanting to return to competition for a while now:

I feel like I’ll be back in the cage soon. I’m going to shut everyone up and make sure they shut the f*ck up, you know. I’m ready to go.

I’ve been begging for a fight with Bellator, and, you know, they’ve been kind of been. I don’t know, they’ve been playing me, so I’m allowed to do my own thing.

Now, what do you need? I’ve been begging for a fight for months. I’m ready to go. I’ve been ready to go.

In his first title defense against Israel Adesanya at UFC 287, Alex Pereira suffered a significant defeat. To regain his top position, Pereira has recently teamed up with renowned Bellator fighter Dillon Danis, which has caused a stir among fans.

Danis is known for his controversial persona and extensive training associations, particularly with Conor McGregor. UFC fans are perplexed to see Danis alongside the former UFC middleweight champion, sparking speculation and intrigue. Despite his loss to Adesanya, Pereira remains committed to bouncing back stronger than ever and rekindling the hopes of his loyal fan base. Pereira shared a photo with Danis and some sparring footage a day later.

Fan reactions:

While Danis has faults, he is a legitimate jiu-jitsu black belt. Pereira was promoted to brown belt after winning the UFC championship, even though grappling had nothing to do with it. UFC fans are amused by this collaboration, as Danis is widely regarded as a heel and has frequently made false claims on social media, which has lowered his value.
