One more ADCC is behind us. An exciting can’t miss weekend of grappling featured plenty of surprises and some excellent performances.
The absolute division had much to offer with the Danaher Death Squad killer Gordon Ryan reaching the finals of the absolute against Felipe Pena and reprising their Studio 540 challenge match. Sadly for Ryan even though he had some amazing heel hook attempts Pena took his back in the exact same way he did back then and secured enough points to get the victory in the end. One thing’s for sure they are both amazing grapplers who showed incredible amounts of skill dealing with many of the most intimidating grapplers alive today.
Third place in the absolute division went to Marcus Almeida Buchecha who managed to secure a steady heel hook victory against Mahmed Aly who appeared to be nursing a knee issue stemming from prior match with Gordon Ryan or even further.
Dillon Danis put on some great performances but ultimately lost to Aly. Other worthy mention is Xande Ribeiro who was on fire and really took the winds out of Buchecha.
