Berkut Jiu Jitsu had it’s 9th event last night. The entire thing was streamed for free on youtube to the delight of every grappler online.
There Felipe Pena and UFC’s bjj champ Augusto Tanquinho Mendes put on quite impressive shows.
One surprise that didn’t go unnoticed was Santos’ surprise elimination by Bilarov.
As Bjj Scout Pointed out – it became clear all of a sudden why Santos would love to face Gordon Ryan sans heel hooks:
Sadly for Bilarov his night came to an end when ADCC gold medalist FElipe Pena caught him in a very tight arm in guillotine.
Santos debacle aside, Samir Chantre was also great fun to watch.
Chantre was quite amusing to watch as he put on a very tight performance culminating in a leg lock game against Mendes in the finals of the 60kg division. In fact he was quite close to catching Tanquinho from the saddle at one point.
In the end Chantre got caught in a standing guillotine after an unsuccessful sprawl.
