98-year-old San Jose Judo coach Believes Judo Is a Key To Youth

 

 

Just last week we told you all about 94 year old judo coach who has no intent to retire. The truly inspiring individual is Jack Hearn – before retiring, Jack worked on the docks in North Shields, but his real passion for Judo kicked in when he began lessons in 1951 at a small club in North Shields.

But Jack’s not alone in how judo reverts the aging process. There’s also a 98 year old coach in San Jose!


In 1946, Yoshihiro Uchida started the Judo program at San Jose State and helped build it into one of the top college Judo programs in the U.S.
