13-Year-Old Joslyn Molina Becomes Youngest ADCC Trials Medalist In History

Joslyn Molina has officially rewritten the record books – at just 13 years old, she became the youngest ADCC Trials medalist of all time!

Until now, ADCC Trials required competitors to be at least 15, because allowing children to fight adults was considered unthinkable.

Molina changed that thinking.

Her performances at ADCC Opens over the last year forced the organization to reconsider the age limit.
Not only has she dominated her peers, she has beaten — and often submitted — seasoned adult black belts, proving she wasn’t just a prodigy but a legitimate contender.

Her pro debut win at WNO 29 erased any lingering doubt, clearing her path to enter the ADCC North American East Coast Trials 2025 in the over 65kg division.

Once she stepped onto the Trials mats, she delivered.

Molina opened with a composed 6–0 win over Canadian purple belt Tianna Lund.
In the quarterfinals, she needed barely two minutes to choke brown belt Hannah Robinson with a D’Arce Choke.

Her lone setback came in the semifinals against the eventual champion, Maia Matalon, but Molina rallied in spectacular fashion.
In the bronze-medal match, she dominated PFL veteran and black belt Brittney Elkin, winning 18-0 and securing her place in ADCC history.

What makes this run even more impressive is that Molina already holds a win over Matalon from the ADCC New Jersey Open just a month earlier.
