Liam McGeary pulled a rabbit out of his hat to submit Kelly Anundson to earn a world title shot. Early on McGeary defended Andundson’s first takedown and gave him a knee to pay for his troubles. Anundson stayed true to his abilities and scored a takedown shortly after. Anundson did some good work with elbows from the top, but then the Englishman started to get active from the bottom. He attempted a key lock first, but then transitioned to an inverted triangle choke to earn yet another first round stoppage.
McGeary is a Purple belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu under Renzo Gracie.
