Pan Champion Luiz Panza Makes Rap Song in Tribute of Buchecha

Luiz Panza is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt under Marco Barbosa who is one of the top heavyweight competitors of his generation. A former professional model, Luiz Panza traded the catwalk for Jiu Jitsu, turning professional in 2013. On his first year as a black belt competitor, Luiz immediately made a name for himself piling up medals at the highest level of BJJ, including the Mundial, Pan American (gi and no gi), Brazilian Nationals AKA the Brasileiro (gi and no gi) as well as the world pro cup trials. In October 2014, after a successful year as a black belt where Panza won the Pan American Championship, Luiz decided to change teams, moving to Checkmat.

Panza made an inspiring rap song in tribute of his team mate Marcus Buchecha wh is currently recovering from an injury.

Panza stated:

For those who do not know, when I had my accident last year (broken fibula) at the world pro, Buchecha was one of the guys who helped me most in Abu Dhabi after being Absolute Champion, rather than celebrate, he and all the crew went straight to the hospital to give support me. There are certain things that are forever stored in the soul of people, and in difficulties we actually see who is on our side. This was just a simple tribute and also words of support. I can say it was not just me, but my soul which wrote this song, and as deserving athlete, first of all, he is worthy as a person.

Marcus Buchecha’s response:

Panza, I’m without words my brother. Thank you for the honor, no one better than you knows how it all is, and God willing everything will be OK and be all like you just said in the video.
