GSP Says Dana White Is The Reason He Retired

Georges St-Pierre spoke to Chael Sonnen on his podcast and told him the reasons that pushed him to retire from the UFC.

He partly blames Dana White for not responding correctly to his VADA testing incident with Johnny Hendricks. St-Pierre also talked about the night that he stepped away from the UFC:

Chael Sonnen: I tend to agree with him [Dana White]. You never really want to see a guy go out with the belt. However, you were little bit unique, cause not only had you cleared out the division, but you were starting to clear it out twice over. You fought the best guys out there twice, you fought some them three times. He’s given the company and organization every opportunity to take the belt and send him out on bottom, which is the way they like guys to go out, to pass the torch. But what the hell can George do? He gets in the ring every time you ask him, against whoever you ask him, and there just not beating him. If doesn’t want to do it any more, what more can George do?

Georges St-Pierre: I’m going to tell you the truth. The truth is if none of this stuff happened after the fight and would have given the VADA testing that I do and they had not acted like that, maybe I already would have been back and maybe I would have given the rematch to Johny Hendricks. But because of that I just all burnt out, angry, I was like frustrated, a lot of things. I needed to let go, cause I didn’t have fun fighting. That’s one of the reasons I stopped.
