Lovato wrote on her Facebook about his victory:

Mission completed! What an amazing night! I have so many people to thank for this incredible memory:

First, I want to thank my wife & family. My wife has been by my side through nearly my whole martial arts journey & she really pushed right alongside with me in this camp, hitting the gym with me, dieting with me, & helping me get the time I needed to focus on training & rest. Without her, there is no way I could focus so much on the camp.

My parents who gave me the gift of martial arts & always believed in me & taught me to go after my dreams. My father showed me what it means to be a true martial artist. He is a real Samurai & to be able to train with him in my camp, have him in my corner, & then dedicate the belt to him was a destiny type moment that we will cherish together forever!

My team of teachers, coaches, & training partners. I was so well prepared for this fight! The years of having the World’s best Jiu-Jitsu instruction & training with Sensei Saulo Ribeiro Jiu-Jitsu & Xande Ribeiro combined with the perfect Muay Thai & MMA training under the brothers, Masters Mauricio Evolução Thai & André Dida, is what gives me the confidence to step in that cage to begin with. The time I spent with the #EvolucaoThai team in Toronto & Curitiba was so valuable & I am so grateful for all of my teammates & training partners there who pushed me & gave me so much positive energy.

Master Mauricio Veio spent the last two weeks of my camp at home with me, spending nearly every minute with me, leading me to this victory. His guidance, instruction, & brotherhood is something I can’t put into words. Thank you so much for your hard work & heart that you give to me!

My braddah, Kendall Grove, who battled everyday with me for a week. We had some epic #GangsterGarage training sessions that I’ll never forget. Thanks for everything bro, can’t wait to do it again!

My conditioning coach, Luke Tirey Green Strength. My body couldn’t have been better prepared or more healthy. My diet was perfect & my cardio was at another level. Luke also sat in the sauna with me & helped get me through the weigh ins. Very thankful for that!

There were over 100 of my Lovato’s School of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts students there to cheer on Rader & I! Thank you all so much for your love & support! We trained & fought like a family. We share our victories with you all.

To all my Lovato Jiu-Jitsu Association instructors & students world wide & all my fans, supporters, & friends who sent me messages before the fight wishing me well & after the fight telling me congratulations. I am so grateful to have all if you behind me.

Huge thanks to my sponsors for this fight Brookover Land Enterprises, OnTheMat.com, PR2 Systems, ReRoll Active Sports, & Onnit. Your support means so much!

I also want to say how proud I am of my champ, Justin Rader for his hard work & come back performance! It was amazing to share another victory night with you!

I want to thank Marcelo for the very tough fight! Much respect & I wish you all the best in the future.

Lastly, thanks to Legacy Fights for the opportunity & for the incredible hospitality & professionalism.

I can’t wait for the next one!
