Former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson, was promoted last year to BJJ black belt by Augusto Tanquinho.
He has always competed at all belts in local and regional BJJ tournaments as well as in the IBJJF worlds and pan.
Henderson competed at the No-Gi World, held last weekend in California and won the bronze medal after being defeated by Marcelo Mafra from Checkmat 4-2 in the semifinal.
BJJ is a family affair with the Hendersons. Both his mother and wife train Jiu-Jitsu and both have competed.
Mary Henderson, Bendo’s wife, won gold in weight and absolute at purple belt. Her husband was so proud that he posted this selfie on social media.
