Metamoris 6 To Be Closed Off To Public, No Live Audience

Word is out that this Saturday’s Metamoris 6 will not have an audience present at the event. No venue has been announced. The only way to watch it will be online on its Pay Per View.

The first 5 editions of Metamoris all had a live audience.

Metamoris founder Ralek Gracie told MMAFighting.com in a statement:

“We are experimenting with a more intimate setting for our athletes in their participation and focusing our resources on the pay-per-view experience for fans worldwide.”

Gracie came under fire two weeks ago when he explained his reasons for only having one female match in 6 editions:

“We have to be constantly pushing the edge of what our viewership is, otherwise we won’t survive. All we’re doing is reinvesting all of our money into these athletes. We’re spinning a wheel. We have to keep the wheel moving. I just don’t think there’s women who are really going to bring it on that level.”

The Metamoris card looks amazing but the event for the second time in a row is on the same time and day as Copa Podio Heavyweight Grandprix which will have a FREE LIVE STREAM.

The audience will once again be split between the two instead of being able to have everyone watching both shows. Copa Podio anounced their dates 2 weeks before Metamoris.

This Metamoris card is one of the best ever. The Road to Metamoris tournament idea is intersting. Some of the best grapplers competed in a closed door tournament to win a chance to face Jeff Monson.
