Jiu-Jitsu Videographer and BJJ black belt Stuart Cooper is living a great lifestyle. For the past 8 years, he’s been travelling the world training Jiu-Jitsu and filming amazing documentaries.
He has made documentaries for stars such as Rodolfo Viera, Marcus Buchecha, Braulio Estima, Andre Galvao, Leandro Lo, Marcelo Garcia, Keenan Cornelius, and many others, he had the chance to train and learn from them.
Cooper has recently decided to move to fight capital Singapore to work for the prestigious Evolve MMA Academy.

BJJEE.com contacted Cooper and asked them what motivated his move to Singapore:
1. Hi Stuart, please tell us how he ended up at Evolve MMA academy and what are you doing there exactly?
I had been working freelance for many years, teaching BJJ and making short documentaries in a number of different countries. I was looking for something permanent and heard that Evolve MMA was hiring through a friend in the industry. So, I made contact to see if there was a position for me to teach BJJ and produce videos. Evolve is one of the top MMA gyms in the world with a World Championship-level team in all aspects of martial arts. Joining Evolve is a big step up in the right direction for me and my career. To be surrounded by people at that level will only help me to improve in all areas of martial arts and filmmaking. I will be focussing on teaching the Jiu-Jitsu classes alongside Evolve’s other BJJ instructors, and I will also be part of the Evolve Fight Team. I will still be producing videos and documentaries for Evolve, as that’s something that I love to do and have a big passion for.

2. What are your impressions about Singapore and life there?
From what I’ve heard about Singapore so far, I know that it has a very organized and hardworking culture. It’s a very beautiful, clean and modern city.
3. Please tell us about the training sessions with the world class athletes?
I’ll only arrive in the next few weeks, but I’m really looking forward to training with the Evolve Fight Team. Many academies I’ve trained at have World Champion coaching, but Evolve has the highest number of World Champions teaching in each discipline all under one roof. It’s very impressive. I am excited to train with athletes, such as Shinya Aoki and Rafael Dos Anjos. I will be improving my Muay Thai skills with some of the best fighters in the world and my Wrestling with the likes of Ben Askren. I’m also looking forward to evolving my No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu with Rick Marshall, who is a 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt. There will certainly be no shortage of training partners at Evolve.

4. What is next for you regarding your BJJ videos?
I’m going to continue making videos at Evolve MMA. There are many athletes training full-time that I can produce new video content about. Fighters, such as Ben Askren, Shinya Aoki, Rafel Dos Anjos, Michelle Nicolini and Roger Gracie, will make great subjects for future documentaries.
5. Any last words?
I’m very excited to start work at Evolve MMA in 2017. There will be a lot of new video content coming with athletes with whom I have never had the chance to work.
