Kim Terra Threatens 20 yr old Gordon Ryan Following EBI 6 Win

The 6th edition of the Eddie Bravo Invitational (EBI) was a great success. For the first time ever, the event was on UFC FightPass.
16 of the best grapplers in the world competed in an open tournament which had favourites such as 2015 ADCC Champion Yuri Simoes, Polaris champion Garry Tonon, ADCC bronze medalist Rustam Chsiev, Matheus Diniz or DJ Jackson, with aa $50,000 up for grabs.
In EBI,every match ends by submission. In overtime, the match restarts with one of the grapplers behind the back.
20 year old Gordon Ryan came in as a late replacement and to the surprise of many, won the whole tournament submitting Yuri Simoes in the semi final and Rustam Chsiev in the final.

Yuri Simoes’ teammate, Kim Terra (Caio Terra’s brother), didn’t appreciate Some of Ryan’s instagram posts which he deemed disrespectful and Terra openly threatened him:

“Watch out man, Don’t think too highly of yourself. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. The way you are marketing this is kind of aggressive. You never know who you might run into when you are not surrounded by your buddies. Btw, congrats on the win. You looked good, just don’t ruin it all with bad posts.

Tom Deblass, the instructor of Garry Tonon, and self proclaimed big brother of Ryan, fired back:

You wanna take it to that level, we can set something up anytime you want behind closed doors everything legal punches kicks, everything. Don’t threaten my 20 year old little brother. Ever.

Last year, when IBJJF announced made a big step forward for the professionalization of Jiu-Jitsu (they announced that by the end of the 2015/16 season, BJJ players ranked number 1 on the male and female adult black belt rankings will each receive a $10,000 prize.), many professional BJJ players welcomed the news but one in particular was very critical.

Caio Terra’s brother Kim had this to say on his Facebook:

Translation:

It is absurd for the leader of the female ranking to make as much as the leader of the male ranking. No offense to women, but the level of men’s bjj is infinitely better, and much more disputed. To this fact there is no debate. Nice little initiative by the ibjjf, but they should slice this “cake” better. Using a legal term, “equity”; treat the equals equally, and those not equal unequally.”

Kim Terra was banned for 2 years by IBJJF in 2009 for having kicked the sponsor stands at the Worlds, and having called a few names to head referee Muzio de Angelis, face to face and online.
