Japanese Judo Federation Starts Collaboration with BJJ Confederation (CBJJD): Common Training Sessions

Last week, an exchange program started between the Jiu-Jitsu national team of Brazil – formed by the champion black belts of the last Brazilian championship of CBJJD, the CBJ (Judo confederation of Brazil) and the Judo federation of Japan.

The training sessions which were organised together happened at the Brazilian Army’s physical education school, in Urca, Rio de Janeiro.
The time spent among the Japanese Olympic athletes is a great opportunity to learn for the Brazilian athletes. According to Pedro Gomes, winner of the  lightweight category in the Brazilian championship, it’s a unique chance.

“It’s a great initiative this exchance between the Judo and BJJ. For sure this will improve a lot our training sessions, as well as theirs. It’s an unrefutable invitation and I am very happy with it”  said the black belt of Gavazza Jiu-Jitsu.

According to Magno Mota, important figure always present on the podiums of the Rio Mineirinho Circuit, the creation of a brazilian national team of Jiu-Jitsu is an extra incentive for the athletes:

“It’s a very cool idea, an incentive for the atheltes at black belt, to keep competing. Something for the fighter to look forward to, to keep willing to grow in the sport. I am very honoured to be able to be part of such a moment”
