Gilbert Durinho Aims to Beat Leandro for a Fourth Time at Next Copa Podio, Sub Only

The next edition of Copa Podio, set for November 22, in Rio de Janeiro, will feature two world class BJJ players in a sub only match.

Gilbert Durinho has beaten Leandro Lo on their last three matches. 2 times in the Gi and one without.

According to Erik Engelhard of Copa Podio, Durinho will face Lo in a sub only match, after a UFC fight:

“However, before the highly anticipated fight with Leandro Lo, Vitor Belfort’s student will face Christos Giagos in a UFC fight, scheduled for October 25, in Rio de Janeiro. The black belt has guaranteed there will be no problem in taking on both the UFC and Copa Podio challenges.

“I’m actually quite used to this kind of set up. A while back I fought in a Face to Face event on one weekend and in Copa Podio the next weekend. A week later a competed in no-gi super-fight at ADCC America. Sometimes it’s tough, but I like to compete and a love a challenge”, said Durinho, adding:

“Despite being more focused on MMA, where I hope to put on a great performance, I am really happy to be fighting Jiu-Jitsu, too. After winning my fight at UFC Rio, I’ll focus on my next challenge, Copa Podio, where you can expect to see a great show”.

Besides the fight between Leandro Lo and Durinho, Copa Podio will be featuring the Middleweight GP, in which current champion Felipe Pena “Preguiça” will be defending his title against some of the best names in professional Jiu-Jitsu.”
