Brazil: Thief Handed a Severe Beating by Jiu-Jitsu Practitioner

 

 

On Monday, May the 25th, in Rio de Janeiro, as reported by Rio brilhante news  , a street thief attempted to rob a couple in a Rio suburb, and was taken care of in brutal fashion.

A couple was walking in Av. Lourival Barbosa when near the ABV Supermarket and were surprised by a stranger who put his hand on his waist as if he was armed.

The thief demanded that the victims hand over mobile and wallet. The couple began to bring their belongings to the assailant when the victim, a man (25) who happens to be a jiu-jitsu fighter realized that the accused was not carrying any weapons and reacted swiftly .

The accused identified as Daniel Alves Dias (28), was immobilized by the victim, and handed over to the military police who arrived on the scene.

The victim had bruises on his knee because the fight with the thief. The thief, Daniel was sent to Rio Brilhante hospital for medical care and then was taken to the station. The thief was in much worse shape after as he was taken down by the Jiu-Jitsu fighter. Both were taken to the hospital to be treated for their wounds.
