Today the USADA suspended UFC middleweight and 2 xIBJJF worlds silver medallist Ricardo Abreu for two years after he tested positive for two steroid metabolites (norandrosterone and noretiocholanolone) in an out-of-competition test. This means that Abreu is banned from the UFC until July 1, 2018.

The two metabolites are of the anabolic steroid nandrolone.

Ricardo Abreu, mostly known by his nickname ‘Demente’ (Demented), is a former 2x Silver medalist at the IBJJF world championships. After focusing his career in MMA, he joined the UFC in 2014.
