Vitor Belfort Set To Make Final Octagon Appearance In Rio Against Nate Marquardt

Vitor Belfort is an mma legend. The 40 year old fighter from Rio De Janeiro Brazil went through many ups and downs.

After many discussions about his retirement bout it looks like he has found his last UFC opponent in Nate Marquardt.

The Phenom will get to make his final appearance in the home town of Rio De Janeiro at UFC 212 scheduled for June 3rd.

Brazilian media outlet Combate was the first to report on the match. UFC 212 will be taking place in HSCB Arena and will feature a headline fight between Jose Aldo and Max Holloway.

Following last loss against Kevin Gastelum Belfort said:

“I really want to finish my career as a professional athlete,” Belfort said then. “This year marks 20 years of my career since I won my belt.”

Briefly there was even an option of him fighting CM Punk but looks like that was nixed by the managemant following less than impressive performance from Punk in his debut against Mickey Gall.

Marquardt, 38, last appeared at UFC on Fox 23, where he dropped a unanimous decision to Sam Alvey.
