Victor Silverio Leaves GF Team For Gracie Barra

Team switching has held quite a bit of controversy over the years in the bjj community. The last to contribute to the trend is Victor Silverio who has opted out of GF Team in order to join Gracie Barra Northridge.

Silverio has been leading his own academy in the states for quite some time but he faults lack of elite sparring and dealing with administration for holding him back.

Silverio has been a black belt since December of 2013. He hasn’t had a good time at worlds having lost prior to quarter finals from Matheus Spirandeli.

Silverio writes:

“First I wanted to thank GFTeam for everything you did for me. All I’m Jiu Jitsu I owe to you. I am very grateful to my teachers and all my training partners. I wish to thank Romulo to open the doors of the academy for me. This was a choice made not only by the teacher that he is, but really the person you are. // First of all I want to say thanks for everything que the GFTeam always did for me. Everything That I know in Jiu Jitsu I learned with you guys. I’m really grateful to all my coaches and teammates from GFTeam. Thanks@romulobarral to open your gym to me. That was a choice not only for the coach that he is, but also for the person.”
