Tyron Woodley : Maia (And Jiu Jitsu) Don’t get Enough Credit In The UFC

 

 

It’s long been speculated that the UFC is losing some of the respect it had for bjj since it’s initial days. Now even Demian Maia’s next opponent is ready to confirm it – it’s become a fact of life that Demien Maia and bjj get less credit then they deserve.

Tyron Woodley told UFC’s Brazilian site:

“Let’s face it, he has what, 19 wins in the UFC? He took Anderson Silva to the decision. He got seven straight wins. How do you do all this and make no noise? “, Asked Woodley,” This is our sport. Our sport does not allow jiu-jitsu, the founding stone of the UFC, to be great. It is not respected. It’s not something everyone wants to see. That’s why he won seven straight wins against opponents and did not get enough credit “
