Tito Ortiz Responds To Chael Sonnen Verbal Tap Accusation, Big John McCarthy Backs Him

 

 

Tito Ortiz is not the one to stand silent under accusations. Such is the case with the latest round of Chael Sonnen being a loud mouth. Just the other day Sonnen said:

 

“The score is 1-1 now between Tito and I. And you always go into a rubber match and everybody knows that. The only reason I kept my mouth shut in that fight – Tito tapped in that fight I knew he tapped when he tapped. I heard Tito verbally tap and I’ve never said a word about it privately to Tito or at the press conference or to you guys. I never said anything and the reason is – first off when you lose you just take your loss. “

Ortiz was reasonably distressed by the charges and posted:

 

It’s even more understandable considering this was his retirement fight after a 20year long career marked by many landmark moments. And while Sonnen still has a while ahead and can freely defend his failure in the match, the referee in charge “Big” John McCarthy clarified what he felt was happening at the main event of Bellator 170:
