Yesterday was quite an exciting day in the world of grappling. Following Berkut and much anticipated Grappling industries super fight there was also a charity event presented by Musclepharm and Fight to Win promotions.
Fan favorite Marcus Almeida Buchecha managed to secure a victory in the main event against Elliot Marshall. This was a NoGi bout and Buchecha opted to go shirtless. As expected, Buchecha was very offensive, quickly secured a top position from which he went on to half guard priod to locking on a reverse triangle from the back.
Another well known jack of all trades – Jake Shields put on a great amount of pressure on Lyoto Machida prior to securing a submission.
It’s no surprise that for Shields, a former wrestler, securing top position was a main priority. Machida got to show some guard versatility managing to attempt a reverse armlock from the back down position but pretty soon after Shield caught an inside heel hook with around 30s left on the clock.
