Rousimar Palhares Signs New MMA Contract

Things are finally looking up for Rousimar Palhares who hasn’t had the easiest path since his dismissal from the UFC back in 2013. In fact he’s lost both fights he was in in 2016 – one against Emil Weber Meek at Venator and another against Michael Materla at KSW 36.

It’s looking like Palhares will be headed to Russia as he just signed with the Russian based Fight Nights Global promotion.

The same promotion recently acquired quite a few names. According to reports they recently inked deals with Rousimar Palhares (18-8), Ali Bagautinov (15-6), Josh Hill (15-2) and Tyson Nam (14-8-1).

Gadzhiev told MMA Fighting that Bagautinov vs. Nam will headlined the promotion’s 64th event on April 29 in Moscow, while Palhares’ debut is scheduled for May. His opponent has yet to be determined.

Palhares is still serving a 2 year suspension received from the Nevada Athletic Comission for controversial eye gouging incident in the World Series of fighting welterweight title fight against Jake Shields in August 2015.
