Neiman Gracie Prefers MMA to ‘Boring’ Ruleset of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

 

The 28 year old Neiman Gracie Stambowsky is a  is the son of Coral belt Marcio Stambowsky. Still Gracie – currently signed to Bellator isn’t afraid to speak out in terms of why exactly we won’t be seeing him competing in bjj any time soon:

“Growing up, my hero wasn’t Spiderman, it wasn’t Superman. It was Royce [Gracie], it was Renzo [Gracie],” Gracie said during an interview on the Sherdog Radio Network’s “Beatdown” show .

 

Neiman Gracie To Gracie Family: ‘Stop Teaching So Much, Come Fight’

 

“Roger (Gracie), he loved fighting and MMA also, but I think his biggest love is competing in jiu-jitsu….With me, MMA was my biggest dream since I was a kid. It’s my biggest focus,” he said. “I don’t like fighting BJJ that much. I don’t like the rules, I think it’s boring. I love MMA, man. It’s a beautiful sport. I want to test myself and see what happens.”

“MMA for me was always the biggest focus. BJJ was something that I always like to compete, to do, but my dream was to fight MMA,” Gracies said. “I always watched Royce and Renzo and all my uncles and cousins fighting and I always loved it. I loved the ring. I loved the cage. This is something that I always wanted to do and I’m really happy that I’m representing.”

Previously Gracie  told Ariel Helwani that he wanted to see members of the Gracie family to start fighting again:

I wish that my other family members, my cousins, they see me fighting, and they also come to the sport because we don’t have many people here representing…come on, guys, come fight. Stop teaching so much and let’s fight.
