Meryl Streep Disses MMA saying It’s Not an Art, Gets Invited to Bellator 170

Liberals of the USA are still scrambling following Donald Trump’s election victory. Of course he’s supported the UFC in the days that the multi billion empire was struggling, so naturally they’ve been supporters of his. Dana White even spoke at the Republican National Convention on his behalf.

But that inadvertently landed MMA on the wrong side of some Hollywood liberals. Sunday when Meryl Streep accepted her latest accolade she slammed MMA.

“So Hollywood is crawling with outsiders and foreigners. And if we kick them all out you’ll have nothing to watch but football and mixed martial arts, which are not the arts.”

Streep had a rationale for what she did, she was slamming Trump as he had some chosen words for a disabled reporter earlier.

Still Bellator president and longtime MMA promoter Scott Coker penned her an open letter saying:

Many fans were outraged over on social media but as expected much of Hollywood is by Streep’s side.

In the audience, as the show went to commercial, Priyanka Chopra said to the people standing at her table, “Use your art to have a voice — wow.”

“In a weird way,” said Rami Malek, who was sitting at the same table, “She’s our president.”
