McGregor Granted Boxing Licence, One Step Closer To Mayweather Fight

Multiple sources confirmed the now, one division champion, Conor McGregor has been granted a boxing licence in California and has applied in a number of other states.

This news adds fuel to the fire of speculation that the Floyd Mayweather fight might be happening. The rumor mill has been running rampant for quite a while now but with McGregor calling for a 100 million payday against Mayweather all bets are off:

“Floyd’s not ready for this. Much respect to Floyd, he’s a solid businessman. What he has been able to do, he’s a f—-ing animal at what he’s been able to do but as far as real fighting, as far as true, pure unarmed combat — Floyd don’t want none of this,” McGregor said.”He does not want none of this.”

“He wants it under boxing rules. He wants a boxing match. He doesn’t want a fight,” McGregor continued. “Tell Floyd and Showtime, I’m coming. Tell him to go to them Showtime offices. I want $100 million cash to fight you under boxing rules cause he’s afraid of a real fight.”

“He’s qualified [as a boxer],” California State Athletic Commission Executive Officer Andy Foster told MMAFighting.com. “I’d love to see him fight in California. It just needs to be the right opponent. Certainly a high-level opponent. We’re happy to license him. We’re happy he’s a California fighter.”
