Luke Rockhold faced David Branch on September 16, 2017 at UFC Fight Night 116 after being away from the sport for almost 15 months. He won the fight by forcing Branch to tap out from his punches in the second round.

Both fighters are BJJ black belts but Rockhold proved to have a superior ground game.
