Luke Rockhold Eager To Go Up a Weight Class to Face Fabricio Werdum

After Ben Rothwell was pinged by the US Anti Doping Agency (USADA) Fabricio Werdum found himself looking for another opponent for UFC 211. Many names were thrown in the ring among them Alistair Overeem and Cain Velasquez. But the one name nobody expected to be thrown down as interested is former middleweight champion – Luke Rockhold!

According to reports:

Rockhold appears to be pushing hard for the chance to go up to heavyweight for Werdum. This past Wednesday on UFC Tonight he explained how come he wants to move not one but 2 weight classes for this fight:

“Everyone’s steaming over this new fight I brought up. I think me and [Fabricio] Werdum got some old beef from Strikeforce. He’s a guy I’ve always wanted to fight,” Rockhold revealed (via Fox Sports). “I’ve thought it through and I like the style matchup.

“Given what’s going on in the middleweight division right now, screw that, I’m coming to heavyweight. Let’s do this.”

Rockhold hasn’t had the most success lately, he hasn’t fought since losing the belt to current champ Michael Bisping at UFC 199.

He was to re match Jacare last November however it fell through because he had to withdraw due to injury.

Werdum is definitely interested. He refered to Rockhold as a b*tch guy over on the MMA Hour.

“I think he’s a b*tch ghuy. I love when Bisping knocks him down”
