Kron Gracie & Diaz Bros Compete in Triathlon Before Upcoming MMA Fights

Kron Gracie and Nate Diaz are both going to be fighting in the next few months. Gracie (2-0 in MMA), will once again be fighting in Japan’s Rizin Fighting Federation this September vs Hideo Tokoro.

Nate Diaz is set to rematch Conor McGregor at UFC 202 scheduled for August 20th.

The Diaz brothers Nick and Nate have been competing in triathlons since 2009 and have influenced their teammate Kron to try it out. They are competing in a circuit called XTerra which has events all over the US.

The races are open to everyone, however, the World Championship on Maui is open only to qualified competitors. (Age group athletes who are not US citizens can participate in US races, but are not eligible for America Tour Points or Points Series titles.)

A triathlon is no easy task: 1.5 km of swimming, 40 km of biking and 10 km of running. Triathletes are some of the most well-rounded athletes in the world.

Currently Nick and Nate Diaz are ranked 5th and 6th in the male 30-34 year old division:

Kron who started triathlons recently is at a respectable 16th place:

Kron Gracie had a victorious 2nd professional MMA fight when he defeated Asen Yamamoto in Japan as part of the New Year’s Eve card from Rizin Fighting Federation.

Gracie defeated the 19-year-old newcomer Asen Yamamoto — the nephew of Japanese veteran Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto — in a 145-pound bout. Yamamoto escaped a tight armbar but was caught in triangle choke towards the end of the first round.
