Grappling Industries sure knows how to attract attention. If last month’s extraordinary display of skill during an over hour long bjj submission only match wasn’t enough they revealed they initially wanted an entirely different opponent for EBI 6 victor Gordon Ryan, and none other than UFC’s BJJ Superstar Demian Maia.
They wrote on their official Facebook account:
Of course Demian Maia was a little preoccupied with his prep for the highly anticipated match against Carlos Condit.
Naturally very vocal Garry Tonon black belt replied:
This would be awesome! While Maia is undoubtedly a legend. I believe I submit him faster than I submitted keenan. #maybeoneday @grapplingindustries
and screen caped the posting embedded above.
And a further look into his comments revealed an impish attitude, apparently Ryan believes himself unbeatable except by other members of his team:
