Fish Oil: The Essential Supplement for Grapplers That Train Hard

If you’ve been in this grueling world of brazilian jiu jitsu for longer then a month odds are you’ve heard a laundry list of supplements you should be taking to make the ride smoother, sort of speak.

There’s much to know and understand, and all the recommendations can become overwhelming. But the one thing that’s a must have on all of those lists is Omega 3 Fish Oil Supplement.

What’s so Special About Omega 3 Supplements?

Well to start with, fish oil is the richest source of long chain fatty acids called eicosapentaenoin acid (EPA) and docosahexenoic acid (DHA).

Now there are plenty of fish oil products but you should be looking at the label – high contents of both EPA and DHA are wanted.

Some studies suggest that you should be taking around 900 mg of DHA daily – but the average fish oil capsule only has about a 100mg of DHA.. You do the math!

This is a supplement that helps build muscle, increases metabolism, reduces inflammation, increases organ function and promotes weight loss to boot!

How Unique are Omega Fats?

There are 3 omega fats, omega -3, 6 and 9. Our bodies do not produce omega-3 and omega-6.

The balance between these 2 omega types has to be maintained. The main issue is that our typical diet has too much of Omega-6 – practically every man-made food has it. Additionally loads of sugar we put in everything produce a kind of inflammation. Omega-3 can balance all this out.

The positive metabolic effects relate to us in terms of the brain, heart, joint and hormone functions even!

Today much of the supplement market is flooded with fake info, but this is not the case with omega-3 research. There’s plenty of scientific evidence in peer-reviewed journals over the years that can provide real tangible insight into the benefits of omega-3 supplementation.

What are some Side Effects of Omega-3 deficiency?

Imbalance between Omega 6 and Omega 3 has been known to impact health. A proper balance can provide benefits to many inflammatory diseases including: ADHD,Asthma, Arthritis, Cancer, Depression, Heart disease…

In conclusion..

Among all the other best bodybuilding supplements for muscle and fat loss, omega 3 fatty acids found in fish oil supplements are considered the best. However, the truth is, it does not directly burn fat or help in recovering the muscles, but indirectly plays an important role to help your body improve the abilities to make that all happen. Therefore, this natural supplement is a must for you to add to your gym bag!
