Fabricio Werdum and Cain Velasquez Rematch Set For UFC 207

The UFC is slowly lining up new fights and figuring out a new system. The previous matchmaker parted his ways with the UFC since the WME-IMG purchase.

They announced today that a rematch between Fabricio Werdum and Cain Velasquez will be taking place December 30th in Las Vegas.

The same card is notably featuring the return of Ronda Rousey and a chance to regain the women’s bantamweight title against Amanda Nunes.

Initially Werdum and Velasquez were set to rematch at UFC 196 back in February but Velasquez had to back out due to injury.

Werdum is fresh off his victory over Travis Browne. He notably won against Velasquez at UFC 188 with a great third round submission.

Werdum ran into Stipe Miocic following the Velasquez bout and lost the heavyweighht title. Velasquez and Werdum are ranked 2nd and 3rd in UFC heavyweight rankings.

Werdum has been training alongside Cobrinha among others and preparing for the December fight.
