All Eyes on Epic Superfights in April: Buchecha vs Rafael Lovato Jr

ADCC North American Trials are very promising. Besides the shot at the trip to the prestigious competition spectators will no doubt be excited to watch the two biggest giants in bjj today face off – Marcus Almeida Buchecha and Rafael Lovato Jr.

In the past Buchecha has been victorious over giants such as Alexander Trans, Keenan Cornelius, Rodolfo Vieira, Dean Lister, Bernardo Faria and others. Buchecha’s sub only superfight against Roger Gracie is another one of those matches that is a must see for every jiu-jiteiro following the scene. At age 27 Buchecha has conquered most landmarks in the world of grappling. Interestingly – he’s never faced off against one of the best American black belts in bjj to this date – Rafael Lovato Jr.

Lovato Jr on the other hand is the first ever non Brazilian to win the Brazilian National Championships at black belt level. He followed up that outstanding record with another one – he was also the first to win Open weight in 2013. Lovato has a somewhat spottier record but he’s been on quite a tear lately securing victories over Roberto Cyborg Abreu, Michael Liera,Jackson Sousa and others.

In addition to all of this Lovato has also been successful in his MMA endeavours  making him perhaps in the best shape of his life.

The ADCC West Coast Trials is the second and final chance for residents of North America to receive invites for the 2017 ADCC World Championships in Finland in September.

Division winners will receive all-expenses-paid trip to ADCC Worlds, but for the first time ever the Trials will also offer substantial cash prizes money for the competitors who make the podium.

The winners will receive $1,500, silver medalists will get $1,000 and third place competitors will get $500.

The match will be airing on tv On Roku and Apple tv 4. In addition to this stream will be available via flograppling.

In addition to this great superfight April is promising plenty of other excitement.

There’s also an epic meeting of different generations in the books with Estima vs Leandro Lo.

In addition to this Geo Martinez will also be facing off against Bruno Frazatto:

And of course another exciting fight:
