Erberth Santos Receives Worlds Prize – IBJJF Set To Reimburse Him Worlds Entry Fees

Much can be said about the business model IBJJF has. Thanks to being a private for profit company they’ve largely avoided giving out prizes for some of the most prestigious competitions in jiu-jitsu world wide.

Erberth Santos writes:

After years of fighting the events of CBJJ / IBJJF and paying to sacrifice all applications, today I had the pleasant surprise to receive this Federation email saying that I DO NOT need longer afford to fight, as was World champion in the black belt!
With this incentive will fall inside of all events to keep me in the first Ranking !!

Entry fees (with the IBJJF membership) are:

Prices:With 2017 Membership

$99.00 (USD) until March 23rd, 2017
$114.00 (USD) until April 21st, 2017
$131.00 (USD) until May 22nd, 2017

depending on when you sign up

Currently the IBJJF has financial prizes for some of the Pro tournaments, general ranking and of course the coveted IBJJF grand prix that was initially sponsored by the UFC but seems to be here for a 2nd season.

Leandro Lo and Mackenzie Dern received substantial cash prizes for finishing the season on the first place.
