DJ Jackson is feeling very confident off of his Garry Tonon victory and subsequent 10,000$ prize he received as a victor at Grappling Pro first tournament.
So confident he’s calling out the infamous King Ryan repeatedly.
His calls have a limited reach but he is stepping up his game.
Initially he was content with the caption:
They left their boy hanging! #wheresthelove #heneededhelp #ddskiller #tli4life #motamma
But has since stepped it up culminating in an outright challenge:
So @gordonlovesjiujitsu Commits to @grapplingpro then pulls out shortly after my name is announced, but then still shows up to the tournament with no visible injuries. Then after I beat his coach for the fourth time Challenges me to a match in a completely different rule set. I know you won’t fight me with #grapplingpro rules because you know better. So fight me in ADCC rules. I would love to make it 7-0 against the #DDS #DDSKiller #stopleavinggaryouttodry #tli4life #motamma
it does not end there however. Skilled as Gordon Ryan is in the art of social media he replied:
Grappling Pro tournament was followed by reports that DJ Jackson refuses to compete in a ruleset without points while Gordon Ryan obviously favors quite a different ruleset.
It’s looking like Ryan won’t be accepting the challenge especially considering just how discontent his bff/coach Garry Tonon is with the ADCC rules. Last month he blasted ADCC rules:
Tonon shared his opinion on Twitter:
As per the current rules, a Submission aware D1, or Olympic wrestler, could beat most ADCC competitors.

If you showed a d1 or Olympic wrestler a tape of the finals of last year’s ADCC in each category they wouldn’t be able to bear watching it.

6 minutes 3 of which are unscored is not an adequate assessment of a competitors abilities in a 10 min ADCC match. #rules #adcctrials

In conclusion I love ADCC. I just wish competitors chose to try to submit each other, and didn’t just look to not lose.
