CBD Will Be Permitted by World Anti-Doping Agency Starting Next Year

World Anti-Doping Agency has announced this past Friday that Cannabidiol will be removed from the prohibited list starting in 2018.

Cannabidiol, better known as CBD, is a cannabis compound that has significant medical benefits and can actually counteract the psychoactivity of THC.

“Cannabidiol is no longer prohibited,” WADA wrote in an official statement on its website. “Synthetic cannabidiol is not a cannabimimetic; however, cannabidiol extracted from cannabis plants may also contain varying concentrations of THC, which remains a prohibited substance.”

Most recently Nate Diaz came under fire for using a vape pen last year after a McGregor bout. He raised many eyebrows openly saying it was CBD oiil during UFC 202 post fight press confrence:

“It’s CBD,” Diaz said at that time. “It helps with the healing process and inflammation, stuff like that. So you want to get these for before and after the fights, training. It’ll make your life a better place.”

Bas Rutten: “I Really Hope That All Fighters & Athletes Will Use CBD Instead of Painkillers.”
